On 31st May, 1910, South Africa were freed from the colonial rules of the British. However, the country celebrates April 27, 1994 as its independence day, owing to the fact that the first democratic elections were held then. South Africa emerged to be a prestigious cricketing nation since the 1992 World Cup.
