Though Chris Gayle featured in the only T20I against India on July 9, it was not a comeback for him to remember as he did not look as threatening as he used to, his time off the field is always memorable as seen on social media.

India lost the match by 9 wickets after Evin Lewis’ heroics where he registered 125 runs, making it his second century in T20Is. He had taken the aggressor’s role even when Gayle was his partner on the crease, and though it looked like an unusual sight to watch another batsman being explosive while Gayle taking it easy, it was one to remember for the Windies dressing room.

Gayle’s rapport with the Indians is no surprise and he took the opportunity to bid farewell to India after their campaign in the Carribean came to an end with Chris Gayle hosting the Indian team at Triple Century Sports Bar, owned by him. The sports bar is located on Knutsford Boulevard in Kingston, Jamaica, close to the Cuddyz owned by another cricketing icon, Courtney Walsh.

There were various incidents of camaraderie between the Windies and the Indians on the tour as pictures of the Indian cricketers with Dwayne Bravo at his residence surfaced earlier. He along with his brother Darren Bravo also visited the Indian team before the first ODI at the stadium. Earlier, Hardik Pandya was also seen spending time with Kieron Pollard and his family.

Yuvraj Singh missed out on the match because he was not 100% fit after a hamstring niggle, but he joined the Windies batsman in the post-match get together at Chris Gayle’s sports bar as the Universe Boss was quick to post his off-the-field routine on Instagram calling Yuvi the “Real Champion”. Ajinkya Rahane too had posted a picture with Chris Gayle and Sanjay Bangar in order to thank the Jamaican for hosting them.
