Shoaib Akhtar is a cricketer who does not shy away from making his opinions known to the world. He says what he wants to. And now, the postponement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has garnered the attention of the cricketing world.
Shoaib Akhtar has made his thoughts known to the public regarding the matter. The former speedster tore into the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials and stated that it is time for some blame-game. He opined that it is definitely the responsibility of the medical panel. Akhtar added that the bio-secure bubble has to be maintained and also said that an inquiry should be initiated against the medical panel.
He also requested the higher authorities to punish the medical panel as the lives of the players should not be put at stake. “It is time for blame-game. But you have to admit that this the responsibility of the medical panel and the bio-secure bubble should have been properly maintained. There should be strict inquiry against the medical panel.
“The medical panel should not be spared. The medical panel should be punished, and I request the higher authorities because they played with the lives of the people,” said Akhtar on his YouTube channel.
Wasim Khan has been asked to face everything, says Shoaib Akhtar
Shoaib Akhtar also opined that the CEO of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Wasim Khan has been unfairly blamed and is asked to face the music. He also added that the chairman of the board, Ehsan Mani should be held accountable. He also went on to say that it was Ehsan Mani who had brought in Wasim Khan, and as a result, the PCB Chairman should provide all the answers.
“All the blame has been put on Wasim Khan, and he has been asked to face everything. Who has brought Wasim Khan? Ehsan Mani (brought him). Where is Mani Sahab? Is this the responsibility of Wasim Khan to answer here? Ehsan Mani should give the answer,” stated the 45-year-old.
Akhtar even sensationally stated that only Wasim Khan was logical in the PCB, and he is the only genuine person who wants to help Pakistan cricket. The ‘Rawalpindi Express’ also said that he had even asked Khan to change the medical panel and if he had done so, the current situation could have been avoided.
“No one should have a doubt about PCB’s incompetence. Only Wasim Khan is logical, and he is the only one who wants to help Pakistan cricket… Now, it is the responsibility of Wasim Khan to look after the medical panel. Earlier also, I asked Wasim Khan to change the medical panel so that such a situation does not happen,” concluded the former Pakistan pacer.
