Marnus came to limelight after becoming the first concussion substitute for Steve Smith in the Ashes last year. He ended the year 2019 as the top run-scorer in Test cricket which included a mesmerizing inning of 275 against New Zealand later the same year.

Marnus praised Kohli immensely for having 50 plus batting average in all formats of the game. “He averages 53 in Test cricket, 59 in ODIs, and 50 in T20Is. If that’s not a world-class player, then I don’t know who is… There are so many things about his good game. That said, I try and imbibe the good from all batters, not just the top guys. There’s so much to learn,” said Labuschagne as quoted by Sportstar.
