The Coronavirus pandemic has affected the sports as well. Almost all the sporting events have either been postponed or cancelled in the last month or so. The Indian Premier League (IPL), one of the marquee yearly tournaments, has also been affected. It was set to take place from March 29 to May 24. But with the lockdown extended until May 3 in India, the window for the tournament to take place has shrinked completely.

Even as the BCCI is monitoring the situation constantly, various speculations are being made about the IPL taking place later this year once the normalcy returns. Meanwhile, the social media was filled with the trolls for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) soon after the BCCI officially confirmed that the IPL has been postponed until further notice.

Fans troll RCB for its poor performance in the league

Virat Kohli-led RCB has been at the receiving end in the past few years for their poor performance in the cash-rich league. The team possesses two of the cricketing superstars in the Indian skipper and AB de Villiers but is guilty of not performing to its potential. Rather the RCB has been accused of being too much dependent on the duo to win games for them every time.

Moreover, Kohli’s captaincy also always comes under the radar and is criticised for his selections too. Last time the RCB came close to winning the title was in 2016 when their captain had hit the purple patch. Kohli had scored four centuries in the season smashing 970-odd runs which is still a record. However, they failed to cross the final hurdle losing to the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

But since then, the team’s underwhelming show has left the fans frustrated. RCB haven’t made it to the playoffs either in the last three years and have consistently stayed in the bottom two. The ecstatic fans hope to win the elusive title every year and even the slogan ‘E Sala Cup Namde’ (This year Cup is ours) also went viral ahead of 2018 edition only for the RCB to finish sixth in the points table.

Now as the IPL 2020 has been postponed, the RCB franchise is being trolled hilariously on social media. While some are saying that they would’ve been knocked out until now if the IPL was going on, few mentioned that this is the best year for the RCB in the IPL ever as the competition is postponed.

Here’s how Twitter trolled RCB:
