After sealing the ODI series 3-0, Team India would like to continue their winning run in the T20I series as well. The three-match affair gets underway on Wednesday (February 16) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. On the eve of the game, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma addressed the media and answered many queries. However, the virtual press conference also witnessed a light moment as Rohit had to stop in between amid a sudden announcement.
As it was a virtual press conference, the journalists joined the session over a zoom call. It seemed like some media personnel missed turning their microphone on off as Rohit’s speech was interrupted midway. The 34-year-old was talking about the ground conditions and suddenly and voice came, “Third World War ka countdown on (Countdown for the third World War is on).”

While Rohit initially seemed baffled with the interruption, he resumed after the brief bulletin was over. The video of the same went viral in no time as fans the incident hilarious. Meanwhile, the veteran opener took a dig at media while talking about Kohli’s form. Saying the former Indian skipper is in great frame of mind, Rohit urged the journalists to reduce the outside noise.

“I think it starts from you guys. If you guys (media) can keep quiet for a while, everything will be alright. If talking from your side stops, everything will be taken care of,” he added, in support of his predecessor,” said Rohit in support of his predecessor.
“He (Kohli) is in a very good space and he has been part of international team for more than a decade. He has spent so much time in international cricket that he knows how to handle pressure situations,” Rohit said, not amused at repeated queries on Kohli’s form,” he added.
Meanwhile, India whitewashed New Zealand 3-0 at home in their last T20I assignment. Hence, they would like to replicate their heroics against the Men in Maroon.
