Jofra Archer is a renowned name in the cricket fraternity as he has caused enough damage to a lot of opposition while playing for England. However, there is one more thing that the decorated speedster is famous for apart from his exploits with the ball. Archer has time and again made headlines for his old tweets that resurfaced on social media.

There was a time when the bowling all-rounder was an avid user of social media and tweeted a lot of random things and about cricket matches happening across the world. Archer started his career in the Indian Premier League in 2018 for the 2008-champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) but the pacer’s tweet from 2014 regarding a game between Mumbai Indians and Royals has gone viral on social media.

In the tweet, Archer didn’t seem much happy with Rohit Sharma’s conduct on the field and slammed the opening batter for taking a poor decision. Notably, IPL 2014 was the second year for Rohit as the skipper of Mumbai Indians. He was handed the reins of the Mumbai-based franchise in 2013 and immediately made headlines by directing the franchise to its first title.

While watching the league game between MI and RR, Jofra Archer slammed Rohit saying, “This is foolishness Rohit.” The tweet came just after a few overs into the contest, however, it is yet to be known what decision by Rohit angered Archer to such an extent that he took to Twitter to lambast the skipper.

Summary of MI vs RR clash in IPL 2014

The match which is being talked about was the last league game of IPL 2014, hosted at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 25, 2014. It was a do-or-die game for the defending champions as they needed a victory to proceed to the second stage of the tournament.

The match commenced with Rohit winning the toss and inviting RR to put a total on the board first. Batting first, Rajasthan managed a decent total on the board as they posted a massive target of 189 runs while losing just four wickets. Sanju Samson was the wrecker-in-chief for the Royals with his stunning knock of 74 runs off 47 balls.

Chasing 190, Mumbai got off to a torrid start as they lost both their opening batsman. However, it was Corey Anderson, who rose to the occasion and churned out a fantastic performance. Corey slammed 95 not out in 44 deliveries to take Mumbai home within 14.4 overs.
