Tickets sold out for the much awaited World XI vs Pakistan games
13 branches of the Bank of Punjab have been up to the task of selling tickets.
As the much awaited World XI tour closes in, the excitement levels of the cricket fans in Pakistan has peaked to sky high levels. There has been a huge crowd of hundreds waiting outside the Bank of Punjab that has been assigned with the task of selling the tickets for the Independence Cup.
The tour of the World XI team is going to be a historical moment for Pakistan and it may pave the way to bring back international cricket in the country. Thus, the crowd has flocked in large numbers to buy tickets to support the cause and watch the cricketing action unfold in the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
However, many fans have had to return home disappointed as the lower priced tickets have been sold out. Only the expensive tickets priced at Rs 4000 and Rs 6000 stand available now.

“I came here to get Rs500 tickets, but then I found out only Rs 4000 onwards are left. I won’t be able to afford them,” remarked a fan standing outside the BoP branch since early morning.
“I really wanted to watch the matches live, at the stadium. But now I won’t be able to go, because I couldn’t get the Rs 500 ones,” said another dejected fan.
The World XI vs Pakistan series has been proclaimed as the Independence Cup 2017.
As reported by GEOtv, 13 branches of the Bank of Punjab have been up to the task of selling tickets for the convenience of the fans. It further informs that the bank’s Head Office received 17,000 tickets to put on sale, which included tickets in the price range of Rs 2,500, Rs 4,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 8,000 tickets. The HO claimed that it did not receive any Rs 500 tickets for the General Stand category, all of which were sold out online.
The World XI is scheduled to play three T20 Internationals against Pakistan on 12, 13 and 15th of September at Lahore.
