Tim Paine 'Sexting' Scandal: Here are the text exchanges between Australian cricketer and his female colleague
Paine sent those explicit messages to a then colleague in 2017.
Tim Paine found himself in hot waters after an inappropriate conversation between him and a woman came into the light. The veteran wicketkeeper-batter was accused of sending unsolicited explicit images to a female colleague back in 2017. Following an investigation in the matter, Paine resigned as Australia’s Test captain, admitting his actions don’t meet the standard of the massive role.
As far as the matter is concerned, Paine sent those explicit messages to a then colleague at Cricket Tasmania back on the eve of the first Ashes Test in 2017. Notably, that series marked Paine’s comeback in the Test team after a long halt of seven years. As per reports, the women and Paine were in regular touch throughout the year. However, the correspondence gradually became flirtatious between the two.
Tim Paine was married when this incident took place
It has to be noted that the cricketer has been married since 2016. Meanwhile, Herald Sun learnt about the text exchanges between the two. As per the media house, the pair were flirtatiously messaging before Paine texted: “Will you want to taste my ***?? F*** me, I’m seriously hard.” Referring to Paine’s role of a wicketkeeper, the woman wrote back: : “I thought we were resting hands”.
“Can’t rest them when I’m this hard!! Need to ease the tension … Finish me off with those lips then (name deleted)”. He then sent what is described as an unsolicited “d*** pic” before asking the woman to “finish me off right now!!!” responded the veteran cricketer.
The woman claimed that she was offended by the inappropriate picture and subsequently complained to the Australian Human Rights Commission regarding alleged sexual harassment in relation to the exchange. With the matter coming into the light four years later, Paine found it best to step down as the Aussie captain ahead of the crucial Ashes series at home next month. He also expressed regret over the incident and even broke down in the press conference.
“Although exonerated, I deeply regretted this incident at the time, and still do today. I spoke to my wife and family at the time and am enormously grateful for their forgiveness and support. We thought this incident was behind us and that I could focus entirely on the team, as I have done for the last three or four years,” said the 36-year-old.
