Timings, fixtures and squads for the ICC World XI tour to Pakistan confirmed
All the three encounters are expected to be thrilling contests scheduled to be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Pakistan will see an end to their 8-year long international drought when the ICC World XI travel to Pakistan for the scheduled T20 series. The three T20 matches will see a number of World Class names play in Pakistan once again after the horrific attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in 2009. The World XI team which will be led by South African skipper Faf du Plessis, have started training in Dubai.
All the three encounters are expected to be thrilling contests scheduled to be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The first and the second games will be played on September 12 and 13th respectively. The final match of the T20 series will take place on 15th September. Some of the big names that the World XI squad boasts of are Hashim Amla, Imran Tahir, Tamim Iqbal, Paul Collingwood, Grant Elliot, Darren Sammy, Thisara Pereira and George Bailey. India and Zimbabwe are the only two teams who have kept themselves out from the tour.
No Test playing nation has visited the country of Pakistan since 2009. Zimbabwe broke the shackles to tour Pakistan in the year of 2015 and it remains the only international series in Pakistan since 2009.
