Here is what team representatives said:

VB Chandrasekhar Owner, VB Kanchi Veerans

The 2018 Player draft was successful and we are excited to work with our new team. Fresh talents have been brought in and suits our combination of Capped and Uncapped players. TNPL will continue to be a great platform for talented youngsters seeking to showcase their abilities.

HR Srinivasan – Owner, Dindigul Dragons

It was an advantage to have Ravichandran Ashwin (retained by the team) at the Player draft to select the best possible combination. Ashwin will be participating in the initial matches, after which he is expected to get busy with international duty. N Jagadeesan will lead in his absence. We take pride in holding this franchise and look forward to perform well in the upcoming season.

Rishikesh Sriram –  CEO, iDream Karaikudi Kaalai

We came to the Player draft with a strategy in place and were able to put together a nice bunch. Subramaniam Badrinath, who led the team last year, has taken over as our coach.

Pooja Damodaren – CEO, Siechem Madurai Panthers

It’s our first time as owners of a TNPL franchise and we are looking forward to work with the team. We are really excited that the TNPL is bigger this year and to be a part of such a prestigious event.

Monty Desai –  Coach, Lyca Kovai Kings

All the franchises have done their homework well and this is evident in the manner the players got distributed. This is the season where you will see a lot more challenges – skill vs skill between teams – and that will automatically take the TNPL to the next level.

Sivanthi Adityan – Owner, Chepauk Super Gillies

We came in with a solid strategy after having done our homework and I think we leave a happy bunch.

Baba Indrajith – Skipper, Ruby Trichy Warriors

The Player draft has gone pretty well with all franchises having come well prepared and I reckon we have done a good job too. The teams are looking even on paper and I am sure it will be a highly competitive season.

Washington Sundar – Player, Tuti Patriots

TNPL is getting bigger and better, no doubts on that. Live broadcast (Star Sports) has played a big role in the growth of the tournament and is providing global exposure to young talents. All credit to the TNCA.

Baba Aparajith Captain, VB Kanchi Veerans

TNPL is an exciting tournament, and with matches being telecast live on Star, people follow the tournament very closely. It has provided our players with opportunities in IPL and looking at the mix I am sure we are heading into an exciting third season.
