'To the haters' - Mayanti Langer hits back at trolls after husband Stuart Binny reaches a new milestone
Stuart Binny has been facing unnecessary criticism and trolling on the social media platforms from the trolls for years now.
While social media could be very rewarding for some players, it could also be a very tough and rude place for others. And one player who falls in the second category is all-rounder Stuart Binny. The out-of-favor India all-rounder has been facing unnecessary criticism and trolling on the social media platforms from the trolls for years now.
No matter what he does on the field, the trolls hardly squander any opportunity to take shots at him. Time and again, one has seen trolls posting distasteful comments and memes to target Binny. And perhaps this is why his wife and one of India’s leading sports anchors Mayanti Langer decided to hit back at the ‘haters’ on Monday.
Mayanti took to Twitter to take a sly dig at the trolls after Binny achieved the 100 List A games milestone. She posted a screenshot of her Instagram story where she had congratulated the husband with the caption: “To the haters, but mainly to the supporters.”
In her Instagram story, Mayanti had posted a heartwarming message for the all-rounder, writing: “A 100 that has been 17 years in the making. HARDWORK and PERSEVERENCE are only words until you bring them to life. Some just TALK @stuartbinny84 WALKS THE TALK. Congrats on yet another achievement champ.”
Stuart Binny toiling hard in the domestic arena
Talking about Stuart Binny, the 36-year old is toiling hard in domestic cricket. The former Karnataka all-rounder has been plying his trade for Nagaland since switching his side before the 2019/20 season. Binny has completely fallen down the pecking order as far as his selection in the national team is concerned and is unlikely to play for Team India again.
Binny’s last appearance for Team India came in 2016 during the tour of the West Indies. So far, he has played 6 Tests, 14 ODIs, and 3 T20Is for India. He has picked up 24 wickets and scored more than 400 runs across formats in international cricket. He suffered another setback last month when he was not picked in the IPL auction. The former Rajasthan Royals all-rounder’s last appearance in the IPL came in 2019.
