Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin was a delighted man after India’s commendable show with the bat in hand during Day three of the Leeds Test against England. After the hosts took a lead of 354 runs, India lost the early wicket of KL Rahul to fast bowler Craig Overton. However, after the fall of the first wicket at the score of 34, the visiting team upped its game to a large extent.
They ended the day with their score at 215 for the loss of two wickets, thereby reducing the deficit to 139. Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli were the overnight batters and they somewhat bailed India out of the precarious position. Prior to that Rohit Sharma also played a gutsy knock of 59 off 156 balls with the help of seven fours and one colossal six.
Ashwin lauded all three of Rohit, Virat and Pujara for their resilience in the middle. The veteran also lauded Daniel Jarvis for showing great intent. Jarvis, popularly known as ‘Jarvo’, is a pitch-invader and has been seen on the ground plenty of times during the ongoing series.
Ashwin took to Twitter and wrote, “Today’s play was as good as it can get with @ImRo45 @cheteshwar1 @imVkohli and Jaarvo showing great intent and grit! Keep going fellas and stop doing this Jaarvo. #IndvsEng.”

In the meantime, Jarvis also posted a tweet on his official Twitter handle and informed the fans that he would be releasing a video very soon.
“Yes, it was me again aka Jarvo aka Jarvo69 at England vs India in the Test Cricket Match, in Leeds Full video will be on my YouTube channel very soon,” Jarvis wrote.
As far as the third day’s play was concerned, Pujara and Kohli have managed to send jitters in the English camp. Pujara has looked lacklustre in the series, but on Friday, he put his A-game to the fore.
The right-hander stayed unbeaten on 91 off 180 balls with the help of 15 fours. Kohli, on the other hand, stayed not out on 45 off 94 with six fours. The duo needs to carry on on the fourth day as well.
