Earlier, Aakash Chopra, Shane Warne, Wasim Jaffer and many others gave their teams. In contrary to them, Tom Moody has picked top seven batsmen in T20 cricket in the batting order but not the full eleven.
COVID-19 outbreak has left a big question mark on the sustainability of human life on the planet. It has affected each and every industry. Tom Moody participates in a podcast and picks his T20 batting order
Recently, Tom Moddy took part in a podcast named ‘The Pitch Side Experts’ hosted by Ian Bishop and Freddie Wilde. Freddie picked David Warner firstly picked David Warner as his preferred opener and Tom Moddy agreed over the same.
Moody then picked Rohit Sharma as the partner of the left-handed Aussie player. He feels that the Indian Hitman has proved his worth for whichever team he has played so far. Moreover, he has emerged as one of the biggest match-winners in the shorter format.
“I’m not disagreeing with that, he (Warner) is certainly opening the batting, and I would have Rohit Sharma as his partner. I think Rohit Sharma for a long period of time has proven that he is a match-winner, he has played in many successful teams and he brings the right and left-hand combination as well, so I’m throwing Rohit as Warner’s partner.” Tom Moody said in the podcast ‘The Pitch Side Experts’.
For third and fourth position, he included Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. The 54-year-old added the fact that the position of Indian batsman will depend on the situation of the game. As per him, if openers managed to get the team off to a great start, then he will ask AB de Villiers to bat at number three.
“If I’m Kohli in my top-order then I’ve got Kohli at three and ABD at four and a game depending on circumstances, if we are getting off to a flyer then I’m having a very challenging conversation with Mr Kohli saying, ‘Virat, AB is going in now’,” Moody added.
At number fifth, sixth and seventh position, all the three agreed to pick Rishabh Pant (Indian wicketkeeper-batsman), Jos Buttler (England wicketkeeper-batsman) and Andre Russell (West Indies all-rounder). Meanwhile, Tom Moody also said that they can have a look at the name of Carrebiean Nicholas Pooran. However, in the end, they came onto a conclusion of including Pant, Buttler and Russell in their batting order.
