India’s Mr. Consistent, Virat Kohli recorded the most runs scoring captain in a single season of IPL when he scored 634 runs in 2013 season for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kohli scored 6 fifties in the season with an average of 45.28 and a strike rate of 138.73.

Robin Uthappa had one of the most consistent season ever for a batsman in IPL as he scored 13 forty plus scores in 16 matches he played with 11 of them coming in consecutive matches. He scored 660 runs, the most runs by an Indian in an IPL season. Uthappa’s dream season included 5 fifties with an average of 44 and strike rate of 137.78. He received the orange cap for topping the season.

3 &#8211; Chris Gayle, 2013 – 708 runs

Chris Gayle recorded 708 runs during 2013 season and still ended up a second top scorer during the season. During the very same season, Gayle recorded the huge score of 175*. With help of a century and 4 fifties, Gayle scored those runs at an average of 59 and a striking rate of 156.29.
