One of the greatest batters in the history of cricket, Wally Hammond was a gem of a player and amassed 7,249 runs at an average of 58.45 with 22 centuries and 7 double-tons. His highest Test score being 336 and is also the batsman with second highest average in this list. But the stand-out feature about Hammond’s batting was the kind of majestic and jaw-dropping strokes, he pulled off and with relative ease. At a time when aerial shots were not in the trend, his fearlessness allowed him to play beautiful lofted strokes.
