Originally introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003, Twenty20 is a shortened version of the game of cricket. Over the years it has also taken the top spot as the most watched form of the game.

Since its inception, T20 has seen success at a global level. Widely appreciated and watched 20 overs cricket is considered to be a treat for the batsmen.

The former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist is one of the most explosive batsmen in world cricket. Gilly is widely regarded as the greatest wicket-keeper–batsman in the history of the game.

He holds the unique record of scoring at least 50 runs in successive World Cup finals (in 1999, 2003 and 2007). Gilchrist is also the first player to reach 1000 runs in IPL.

Gilchrist played Twenty20 for &#8211; Australia, Deccan Chargers, Kings XI Punjab in the IPL and Middlesex. Featuring in 102 T20 matches the Aussie scored 2622 runs.

Former Australian all-rounder Ian Harvey also features in this list of batsmen with most Twenty20 centuries. Harvey was named as one of the five Wisden cricketer of the year for 2004.

Besides playing for the Australian national team, he played T20 cricket for &#8211; Cape Cobras, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Northamptonshire, Southern Rocks and Yorkshire.

Ian played 54 T20 matches and has 1470 runs in this format of the game. His best score is 109. He scored his runs at a good strike rate of 156.21.

If the year 2016 belongs to one player it is the Indian batting star Virat Kohli. The Indian Test skipper started off the year at a high and has continued to pile on runs like never before.

Coming into the 2016 IPL season he had no hundreds in his bag but finished the tournament with 4 centuries along his name. He led the Royal Challengers exceptionally but the team fell one step short to finish runners-up.

Hamilton Masakadza is a Zimbabwean cricketer, he bats right-handed and bowls right-arm-leg break. In February 2000 Masakadza became the first black Zimbabwean to score a first-class century.

In the span from 2005-2016, Chris Gayle has played 261 T20 matches scoring 9402 runs. He is the all-time highest runs scorer in T20 cricket and holds the record for most sixes (685).

<p>Topping the table of players with most centuries in T20 cricket, Gayle storm has been a brutal force in the shorter format of the game.</p>
<p>In the span from 2005-2016, Chris Gayle has played 261 T20 matches scoring 9402 runs. He is the all-time highest runs scorer in T20 cricket and holds the record for most sixes (685).</p>
<p>It is the format that suits his game the best and Gayle has ensured he leads most batsmen in almost all batting records. His attacking stroke play has been unmatched. Irrespective of the tournament he has emerged as the most destructive batsman in all the major leagues that he has featured.</p>

<p>Originally introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003, Twenty20 is a shortened version of the game of cricket. Over the years it has also taken the top spot as the most watched form of the game.</p>
<p>Since its inception, T20 has seen success at a global level. Widely appreciated and watched 20 overs cricket is considered to be a treat for the batsmen.</p>
<p>From an age when hundred was considered a tough achievement in ODIs batsmen have started to score tons at ease even in the shortest format. The biggest hitters of the game feature in this list of Top 10 Batsmen with most centuries in T20s:</p>

<p>The former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist is one of the most explosive batsmen in world cricket. Gilly is widely regarded as the greatest wicket-keeper–batsman in the history of the game.</p>
<p>He holds the unique record of scoring at least 50 runs in successive World Cup finals (in 1999, 2003 and 2007). Gilchrist is also the first player to reach 1000 runs in IPL.</p>
<p>Gilchrist played Twenty20 for &#8211; Australia, Deccan Chargers, Kings XI Punjab in the IPL and Middlesex. Featuring in 102 T20 matches the Aussie scored 2622 runs.</p>

<p>Former Australian all-rounder Ian Harvey also features in this list of batsmen with most Twenty20 centuries. Harvey was named as one of the five Wisden cricketer of the year for 2004.</p>
<p>Besides playing for the Australian national team, he played T20 cricket for &#8211; Cape Cobras, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Northamptonshire, Southern Rocks and Yorkshire.</p>
<p>Ian played 54 T20 matches and has 1470 runs in this format of the game. His best score is 109. He scored his runs at a good strike rate of 156.21.</p>

<p>This young South African opening batsman is yet to make an International appearance. Dussen is considered as a hard hitter in the domestic T20 circuit.</p>
<p>He has thus far in his career featured for Lions, North West and Northerns teams. A promising cricketer the 27-year old is yet to make an impression enough to earn him a national call-up.</p>
<p>Rassie van der Dussen has played 42 T20 matches in his career to score 1269 runs. He has the best score of 112 not out. A strike rate of 120.05 and an average of 35.25.</p>

<p>If the year 2016 belongs to one player it is the Indian batting star Virat Kohli. The Indian Test skipper started off the year at a high and has continued to pile on runs like never before.</p>
<p>Coming into the 2016 IPL season he had no hundreds in his bag but finished the tournament with 4 centuries along his name. He led the Royal Challengers exceptionally but the team fell one step short to finish runners-up.</p>
<p>Kohli has played 204 T20 matches in his career and has scored 6445 runs with an average of 41.85 and a strike rate of 132.99. He has also scored 46 fifties, the second most in the list.</p>

<p>The aggressive left-hander is placed fifth on the list, David Warner&#8217;s ability to score runs quickly and use the switch hit to perfection makes him an exceptional talent.</p>
<p>In the recently concluded edition of the IPL Warner rose above expectations as a leader and took his team to IPL glory. Warner is the first Australian cricketer in 132 years to be selected for a national team in any format without any experience in first-class cricket.</p>
<p>He also holds the record for the second fastest half-century in T20 internationals. Warner has played 220 T20 matches scoring 6868 runs with a superb strike rate of 143.71.</p>

<p>Nicknamed Maxy South-Australian opening batsman Michael Klinger has won the State Cricket Player of Year award twice (2009, 2010).</p>
<p>A naturally aggressive batsman the 36-year old has featured for the following major teams &#8211; Adelaide Strikers, Australia A, Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire 2nd XI, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Perth Scorchers, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia</p>
<p>The right-right batsman Klinger has played 117 Twenty20 matches and has scored 3658 runs. He has the best of 126* and a strike rate of 126.61.</p>

<p>The all-rounder from England is generally known for his hard hitting abilities with the bat and medium-pace bowling. Wright was seen as someone who would serve English cricket for a long time but he somehow didn&#8217;t manage to do that.</p>
<p>The major team&#8217;s he has represented in his career thus far are &#8211; England, Abahani Limited, Dhaka Gladiators, England Lions, England Under-19s, Impi, Leicestershire, Leicestershire Cricket Board, Melbourne Stars, Pune Warriors, Quetta Gladiators, Sussex, Wellington.</p>
<p>Luke has appeared in 251 T20 matches and has piled on 5967 runs and his highest score being 153*. He also has a superlative strike rate of 146.75 which makes him a perfect fit for the format.</p>

<p>Known for his dashing stroke play the former Black Caps skipper Brendon McCullum is second in the list, considered as a batting phenomenon McCullum gives the opposition bowler no respite.</p>
<p>He is the leading run-scorer in T20 International cricket and is the first and so far the only player to have scored two T20 International centuries and 2000 runs in T20Is.</p>
<p>McCullum has had a great time playing in the IPL as well and currently represents the Gujarat Lions. He has played 245 T20 matches and scored 6845 runs with a strike rate of 137.7.</p>
