<p>India’s limited overs skipper is ninth in the list. Dhoni is known for his power hitting skills and his regarded as the best finisher in the world. Coming out to bat at number 3 against Sri Lanka, Dhoni hit his career best knock of 183*. The future India captain struck 15 fours and 10 towering sixes and scored 120 runs in boundaries. His match-winning innings happens to be the highest score by a wicketkeeper-batsman in ODIs.</p>

<p>Herschelle Gibbs played the knock of his life against Australia at the Wanderers in 2006 when he stunned the cricketing world with his match-winning knock of 175 runs to enable South Africa chase a world record target of 434 runs. The match was an epic and so was his batting performance which included 21 fours and 7 sixes and accounted to 72% of the overall runs he scored.</p>
<h4><strong>7. AB de Villiers &#8211; 132 runs:</strong></h4>

<p>Mr. 360 is seventh in this list. West Indies had no clue about how to stop de Villiers at the Wanderers stadium in 2015 when he went berserk and smashed a 31-ball hundred, the fastest in ODIs. De Villiers didn’t stop after his century and went on to score 149 runs off just 44 balls which included 16 sixes and 9 fours. He hit at a mind-boggling strike rate of 338 and a stunning 132 runs came only in fours and sixes.</p>
<h4><strong>6. Chris Gayle &#8211; 136 runs:</strong></h4>

<p>The Jamaican giant is a threat to the bowlers anywhere that he goes out to play. Gayle was on full song when he destroyed the feeble Zimbabwe bowling attack with his amazing knock of 215 at The Manuka Oval during the 2015 World Cup. Gayle batted effortlessly and whacked 16 sixes and 10 fours in his fabulous knock.</p>
<h4><strong>5. Virender Sehwag &#8211; 142:</strong></h4>

<p>Virender Sehwag is sixth in the list. The dashing opener was known for his audacious batting approach. In 2011, Sehwag played a world record innings of 219, studded with 25 boundaries and 7 sixes. He broke Sachin Tendulkar’s previous best of 200* and became the only the second player to hit a double century in the history of ODIs.</p>
<h4><strong>4. Rohit Sharma &#8211; 144 runs:</strong></h4>

<p>Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore witnessed Rohit Sharma smash a blistering 209 against Australia in 2013. This made him the third Indian player and overall as well to hit a double century in ODI cricket. His whirlwind knock was studded with 16 sixes and 12 fours which added up to 144 runs out of the 20 that he scored that night.</p>
<h4><strong>3. Shane Watson &#8211; 150 runs:</strong></h4>

<p>Shane Watson was in amazing striking form when he smashed a majestic 185 not out against Bangladesh in 2011. It was one of the most entertaining innings of the 2011 World Cup. His knock included 15 boundaries and an equal number of sixes which made up to almost 81% of his overall individual score.</p>
<h4><strong>2. Martin Guptill &#8211; 162 runs:</strong></h4>

<p>During the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, Martin Guptill became the fifth player to score an ODI double hundred when he hit an unbeaten 237 against West Indies. His knock was compiled with 24 fours and 11 sixes is the second best in the list. In all, Guptill hit 162 runs in the form of sixes and fours.</p>

<p>Rohit Sharma is at the top of the list with 33 fours and 9 sixes in an innings that account to 186 runs. Sharma achieved this record when he hit the unbelievable world record individual score of 264 against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in 2014. This knock is the highest individual score by any batsman in ODIs. Almost 70% of the runs came in either boundary shots.</p>
