Shaun Pollock who is known as one of the better all-rounders picked up 421 wickets in Test for the Proteas. He bowled 1222 maiden overs in Test cricket, becoming one of the most effective new ball bowlers. He boasts of a bowling average of 23.11 with an economy of 2.39 from 108 Test matches.
6. Derek Underwood (England) &#8211; 1239:

The left-arm orthodox spinner from England has an impressive record in the whites. In 86 matches, Underwood has scalped 297 wickets at an average of 25.83 and an economy of 2.10. He has bowled 1239 maiden overs in Test cricket with the best figures of 8/51 against Pakistan in the year 1974.

The West Indian spinner is one of the most successful bowlers in Test cricket. He played 79 Test matches for West Indies, picking up 309 wickets at an average of 29.09 with a staggering economy of 1.98. He registered 1313 maiden overs in his career with 18 fifers; he also had a couple of 10-wicket hauls to his credit.

“Pigeon” has been one of the most celebrated bowlers in Test history. Glenn McGrath has 563 wickets to his tally at an average of 21.64 and an economy of 2.49. He had been a miser with the ball, bowling 1470 maiden overs. His best bowling figures of 8/24 came against Pakistan in the year 2004/05. McGrath has 29, 5-wicket hauls to his credit.
3. Anil Kumble (India) &#8211; 1576:

The former Indian Test captain had been a phenomenal asset for the team. He played 132 Test matches and picked up 619 Test wickets at an average of 29.65 and an economy of 2.69. He bowled 1576 maiden overs in Test cricket for India. Kumble registered 35 fifer&#8217;s and 8 ten-wicket hauls. He picked up 10 wickets for 74 runs in an innings against Pakistan at Kotla in the year 1999 and was the best performance of his career.
2. Shane Warne (Australia) &#8211; 1761:

One of the finest leg-spinners in world cricket, Shane Warne played 145 Test matches for Australia. ‘Warnie&#8217; bowled 1761 maiden overs in Tests, picking up 708 wickets at an average of 25.41 with an economy of 2.65. He also picked up 37 five-wicket hauls and 10 ten-wicket hauls in his glorious career.

The smiling assassin, Muttiah Muralitharan shouldered the hopes of his country for long. He has registered 800 wickets in Test match cricket at an average of 22.72 and an economy of 2.47 and till date is the leading wicket-taker in ODIs as well as international cricket. Murali also has 67, 5-wicket hauls and 22 ten-wicket hauls in his account. His best bowling figures of 9/51 came against Zimbabwe.
