The South African run machine has been scoring centuries with ease for the last five years. A gifted batsman, his subtle wrists, and compact back-foot allow him to stand up tall and play delightful strokes on either side of the wicket. A batting average of above 50 in Test and ODI cricket proves his class and consistency.

A batting average of above 50 in Test and ODI cricket proves his class and consistency. Amla has thus far appeared in 92 Tests and scored 7358 runs which has a huge contribution from his 25 hundreds and 29 fifties.

Amla made his Test debut against India at Kolkata in 2004. He scored his maiden Test century two years later against the Kiwis at Cape Town after which he established himself in the team. Unwavering concentration has enabled him to become one of the best batsmen in the world. His knock of 311* against England, at The Oval in 2012, remains the only triple century by a South African in Test cricket.
