Taylor has responsibly played the role of a top order batsman for New Zealand since making his debut at Napier against West Indies. Taylor has managed to score 15 centuries in the 153 innings he played for the Kiwis in his career. He is the second highest century maker for New Zealand in ODIs standing only behind Nathan Astle who has just 1 more century than him.
