<p>Indian opener Rohit Sharma has evolved as a match winner since he was promoted from the middle order to the top. Rohit loves playing the big shots and does that with relative ease, he is one of those batsmen who scores his runs with ridiculous elegance and without investing much effort. He has played 144 ODIs for India thus far and scored 4738 with an average of 41.20. Hitman like his fans call him has an impressive strike rate of 83.88 which is that because he has hit as many as 402 boundaries and 105 sixes in his short career. He definitely has a knack of striking the ball all and over the park and will certainly rise in the list with time.</p>

<p>Another skipper is at number nine in the list. Though Ireland would be missing his services, England are certainly not complaining. In 155 matches, Morgan has made 4692 runs at an average of 38 with an amazing strike rate of 87. He is particularly strong through the midwicket region and the mighty heaves leave many bowlers stunned. An inventive and free stroking middle order bat, Morgan was named the full-time ODI skipper just before the 2015 World Cup.</p>

<p>In 166 matches he averages close to 44 for his 5621 runs which includes 15 classy tons. Taylor, known for his game-changing knocks has certainly twinned talent with temperament to taste success in international cricket. He is pretty severe on military mediums and leg spinners and chooses his spot brilliantly to deposit the cherry into the stands. Taylor also has the ability to finish games in tense chases.</p>
<h4><strong>7. Suresh Raina &#8211; 120 sixes:</strong></h4>

<p>Suresh Raina is aggression personified. While on the field or at the crease he is always keen to get under the opposition’s skin. The southpaw, who is the lynchpin of the current Indian middle order in ODIs, averages 35 for his 5568 runs. That includes 36 half centuries most of which have come in crunch situations and when India are under the pump.</p>

<p>The big built Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson has amassed 131 sixes in just 169 ODI innings, which includes a magnificent 185 not out against Bangladesh off 96 deliveries which included 15 massive hits over the fence. Watson is known to tear away into opening bowlers right from the outset and for a substantial period was Australia’s number ODI opener. Even if he bats in the middle the spinners are always wary of his powerful slogs which more often than not end in the stands.</p>
<h4><strong>5. Yuvraj Singh &#8211; 148 sixes:</strong></h4>

<p>At number five is the ultimate sixer king of world Cricket. Yuvraj discovered his hitting prowess only in the second half of his career after he was expected to perform the finisher’s role alongside Dhoni. Though we are talking about ODIs here, one can’t forget to mention his six sixes off Stuart Broad in the 2007 World T20 match in Durban. In 268 ODI innings, he has more than 8000 runs and the man of the tournament of the 2011 ODI World Cup is certainly one of the greats of Indian ODI cricket.</p>
<h4><strong>4. AB de Villiers &#8211; 181 sixes:</strong></h4>

<p>You do not average 54 in ODIs and have a career strike rate of above 100 unless you are AB de Villiers. A batsman of breathtaking skills and still the temperament to back up his creative intent, AB already has 23 hundreds and 47 half centuries and will certainly be an all-time great of international cricket when he decides to call it a day. There is simply no corner of the ground AB can’t send the cherry to. And when you err in line or length there is only one way the ball is going, into the cheering crowd.</p>
<h4><strong>3. MS Dhoni &#8211; 189 sixes:</strong></h4>

<p>The difference is highlighted quite clearly here. Though MS is at number 3 having hit seven more sixes than AB, he has taken 270 ODI games compared to AB’s 195. More than 9000 runs, an average of 53 and numerous match winning knocks make MSD the biggest 50 over superstar of India after Sachin Tendulkar. What stands out is that he does not hesitate to finish tense chases with hits over the boundary. MS Dhoni is simply self-confidence personified.</p>

<p>Just two ahead of Dhoni is Kiwi wonder, Brendon McCullum. The current New Zealand skipper has 191 sixes to his credit in 256 matches with 224 innings. McCullum has also hit 564 fours with a strike rate of 95. His average of 30 might disappoint many considering the vast talent. But McCullum more often than not gives blistering starts to his team meaning the rest of the batsmen have time to settle and play big knocks.</p>

<p>Though Gayle is quite a distance behind the all-time number one Shahid Afridi, he has the numero uno spot among current batsmen and is at number 3 in the overall list. The Jamaican superstar has blasted 238 sixes and 1038 fours in 269 matches. An average of over 37 and a strike rate of 85 are particularly impressive considering his run with injuries. His 215 against Zimbabwe in ODI World Cup 2015 is the 4<sup>th</sup> highest score in ODI cricket. He slapped 16 sixes during that innings which is the Joint highest in ODIs.</p>
