But once he moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore, he broke every possible record apart from becoming the leading run scorer in IPL. In the 70 innings he played, he has scored 2835 runs at an average of over 47 and a destructive strike-rate of 153. Adding to that, he owns the highest individual score in all T20s with an unbeaten 75 he scored against Pune Warriors a couple of seasons back and has scored over 200 sixes. He is also the fastest to reach 2000 IPL runs as he took just 48 innings to do so. In terms of balls, he is the second fastest with 1251 balls.</p>

He has taken just 53 innings to do so and is the second fastest after Chris Gayle to achieve this feat.</p>

<p>Indian ODI and T20 skipper is in the ninth spot in the list of fastest batsmen to reach 2000 runs in IPL. Dhoni has taken 75 innings to do so and shares the ninth spot with former India captain Rahul Dravid. But in terms of balls, Dhoni reached the 2000 run mark in a quick time when compared to Dravid as he took just 1441 balls compared to Dravid’s 1716. Dravid played as an opener in most of the matches and relied on timing and placement while Dhoni bats as a finisher and is all about sheer power.</p>

<p>Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan features in the eighth spot in the list of fastest batsmen to reach 2000 runs in IPL. Dhawan, who has played for Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad has taken 74 innings to reach the landmark in the last edition of IPL. Dhawan, who is known to treat the balls on its merit has taken 1626 balls to reach 2000 runs. He is a kind of batsman who look to cash in during the field restriction overs and has successfully succeeded in doing so.</p>

<p>India’s most destructive opener Virender Sehwag occupies the seventh spot in the list of fastest batsmen to reach 2000 runs in IPL. Sehwag has took 70 innings to reach the landmark and is the fastest to reach those runs in terms of balls as he took just over 1211 balls. Sehwag, who is known for big hitting at the top of a batting line up gets his side off to a flier by scoring some big runs in the initial overs and more often than not goes on to score a big score.</p>

In terms of balls, he is the sixth fastest to reach the landmark as he took 1451 balls to score those runs. Raina is the only batsman who has scored over 400 runs in every single edition of IPL. He has 3390 runs from 115 innings at an average of over 35 in his IPL career for Chennai Super Kings.</p>

The former Delhi Daredevils captain has took 68 innings to reach the milestone and is one of the most consistent batsman in the tournament. He is all set to become the third man to cross the 3000 run mark in IPL in the next innings he plays as he is just 8 short of it. Interestingly, he also holds the record of most number of ducks (10) in IPL.</p>
