3. Sir Don Bradman – 234:
The legendary Sir Don Bradman had lowered himself down the batting order owing to a leg injury in the second Test of the 1946-47 Ashes series in Australia. He still managed to score a marvelous 234 in the company of Sid Barner who finished with an identical individual score as the home team amassed 659/8 before declaring. This was in reply to England’s 255 in the first innings. The visitors were bowled out for 371 in their second innings as the Aussies took the match by an innings and 33 runs. The hosts eventually won the 5-match series by a margin of 3-0.
