3. Virender Sehwag – 219:
The dazzling Indian opener from Delhi, Virender Sehwag, in 2011 against West Indies at Indore, became the second player to score an ODI double century, after Sachin Tendulkar. He held the record for the highest ODI score for 3 years. Sehwag bludgeoned the West Indies bowling and had an opening partnership of 176 runs with Gautam Gambhir. He scored his century in just 69 balls hitting 10 fours and 5 sixes. He brought up his double century in 140 balls by hitting 7 towering maximums and 25 boundaries. Sehwag was dismissed in the 47th over off a Kieron Pollard delivery and was caught by substitute fielder A Martin. India scored 418, in response to which West Indies could only post 265 giving India a 153-run win.
