10. Saleem Elahi (Pakistan) 102*:
Saleem Elahi’s international career started on a bright note when he smashed an unbeaten 102 on debut against Sri Lanka at Gujranwala in 1995. This was remarkable particularly since he was brought into Pakistan’s ODI side without having played a single first-class match. The first ODI of the 3 match series saw the visitors scoring 233/5. Pakistan won the match comfortably by 9 wickets courtesy a wonderful hundred from Elahi who opened the innings. He played 48 ODIs scoring 1579 runs at an average of 36.72. His stand-and-deliver style of batting got him 4 tons and 9 half-centuries in ODI cricket. He was generally in and out of the national side and played his last ODI against the Kiwis at Napier in 2004.
