This was the all important match of the India v South Africa Gandhi Mandela ODI series. The 5th match was to be the series decider and as soon as AB de Villiers won the toss he had little hesitation in deciding he wanted to bat first. Opener Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis and skipper AB de Villiers all struck brilliant hundreds scoring 109, 133 and 119 runs respectively. All the Indian bowlers looked helpless and put up their worst show in the finals. South Africa maintained a run rate of 8.76 in their innings and at the end of 50 overs had 438 runs in their account for the loss of 4 wickets.
