In the early days of Cricket, England set up this gigantic score in the 5th Test of the Ashes in 1930. Right in the first innings of the test, England managed to score such a huge innings, courtesy of a fantastic triple century from Sir Leonard Hutton, the English opening batsman who scored 364 runs in the innings. They won the test by an innings and 579 runs.
