At the sixth spot, we have two stadiums from India, the Rajiv Gandhi International cricket stadium and the Greenfield International cricket stadium. While the former is located in Hyderabad, the latter is located in Thiruvananthapuram. Both these stadiums in India have a seating capacity of 55000.
The Rajiv Gandhi International cricket stadium has hosted 5 Tests, 6 ODI’s and 3 T20Is. The highest individual score in this venue in ODI cricket is held by the great Sachin Tendulkar. The ‘Master Blaster’ scored a magical 175 in a losing cause against Australia on 5th November 2009. It was during the course of this innings that Tendulkar also became the first man to breach the 17000-run mark in ODI cricket. The highest team total in ODI cricket also came in the same game when Australia plundered 350/4. The stadium hosted its first international match on 16th November 2005 when India took on South Africa in an ODI game.
On the other hand, the Greenfield International cricket stadium has hosted just a single ODI match and 2 T20Is. The first international match at the Greenfield cricket stadium was played on 7th November 2017 when India took on New Zealand in a T20I match.
