Afghanistan batted first and scored 162/6, riding on some useful contributions by Shahzad and Stanikzai followed by a reckless innings of 39 from 14 balls by Shenwari. Kenya were dumbfounded and were done for at 56, the lowest ever T20I total of that time as the Afghanistani bowlers made merry of the Kenyan batting. Afghanistan won by a huge margin of 106 runs.
