7. Mohammad Azharuddin- 67:

The supremely talented Mohammad Azharuddin at his peak was a delight to watch. At times, it seemed his subtle wrists transformed a slender piece of willow into a magician’s wand. Azhar’s leg-side play was reminiscent of Zaheer Abbas and Greg Chappell. As captain, Azhar enjoyed tremendous success on made-to-order home pitches, while right to the end of his career he was peerless in the field, whether prowling the covers or pouching catches at slip. In a career spanning from 1985 to 2000 he led India at a stretch in 67 ODIs from 05/03/1993 to 26/05/1996. After a successful career, the allegations of match-fixing provided an emphatic full stop to Azhar’s cricketing ambitions and achievements.
