Herschelle Gibbs something only 2 people had done in any kind of cricket before him and no one had done it in international cricket of any form. In the 29th over of South African innings, leg spinner Dan van Bunge of the Netherlands went for 6 consecutive sixes at the hands of Herschelle Gibbs.

Gibbs became the first batsman to hit 6 sixes in an over in ODI or international cricket. Only other batsman to do so in domestic cricket are Gary Sobers and Ravi Shastri**.

** Yuvraj Singh of India hit Stuart Board of England for 6 sixes in one over in the inaugural World T20 championship held in South Africa in 2007.  No one has hit 6 sixes in an over in Test cricket till now.
