4. Babar Azam
There’s no second-guessing that in an arid batting lineup of Pakistan, Babar Azam is an elusive fertile oasis that has been brimming with runs at an accordant pace. Despite making his debut not long ago in 2015, Babar, in his small-scaled international career, has already dwelled himself as the next scintillating component in the batting club of fab four.
His soothing touch play batting has effortlessly allowed him to become a crown jewel of Pakistani’s batting across all formats. Especially in the white-ball format, Babar has been producing barrels of runs as in his mere 80 ODIs, the 26-year old has stacked 3808 runs at a soaring average of 56.84 that also currently places him third in the highest career batting averages in ODIs.
The right-handed batter was also already the second-fastest to 2000 in ODIs and is at present the fastest ever to score 2000 runs in T20Is. Also, not long ago Babar had his 50 plus average intact even in the shortest format but now from his 57 T20I games, the batter has 2035 runs at an average of 47.33.
While Babar’s brimming ascendancy in white-ball format has often ranked him at the top with the best in the world, his Test matches numbers which are in a work-in-progress mode actually are captivating to some extent.
Out of his 33 Test matches, Babar has scored 2169 runs at an exceptional average of 42.53. Overall, with Babar already being expected to shatter all batting records across formats as a Pakistani batter, assuredly, the skipper is an elusive talent that has been skyrocketing his team in the most fitting way.
