Sir John Berry “Jack” Hobbs was an English cricketer known as “The Maser”. He is the leading run-scorer and century-maker in First Class cricket, with 61,760 runs and 199 centuries. He has scored 5410 runs in 61 tests with an impeccable average of 56.94. EW Swanton described him in 1963 as “a supreme master of his craft and the undisputed head of his profession”. Berry is the oldest cricketer to score a test ton, he was 46 years and 82 days when he hit his last hundred.
