Perhaps one of the greatest batsmen from the Caribbean in the modern era, who played largely in the shadows of Brian Lara, Shivnarine Chanderpaul played 164 Tests and 268 ODIs, a total of 454 international matches. In his career, he remained unbeaten on 94 occasions and maintained an overall average of 45.72. With 125 fifties and 41 tons to his name, he has definitely proved to be a solid batsman for the West Indies cricket for a long time. Chanderpaul after being ignored by the Board for a while recently announced his retirement.
