5. Jeremy Coney
Nowadays, the former New Zealand cricketer Jeremy Coney is active in cricket as a commentator. During the 1970s and the 80s, he was an important member of the Kiwi team due to his exceptional all-round skills. From 1979-87, he played 88 ODIs for New Zealand and scored 1,874 runs at a strike rate of 64.95.
In the longest form of the sport, he appeared in 52 games and racked up 2,668 runs with three tons and 16 half-centuries in 85 innings. In 1984, he got the captaincy mantle and won 13 and lost 20 with his leadership skills out of 40 matches. From 1983-87, the former right-hander delivered 117 innings to his team without giving his wicket on a naught.
Coney played his last international game against the West Indies on March 28, 1987, at Lancaster Park, Christchurch. He retired with the unbeatable record of the most consecutive knocks without a duck. However, the feat got shattered by the English batter Alec Stewart.
