When we talk about most successful Test captains, many familiar names crop up. Today, we look at the leaders who ignited passion and fire to go the distance and produce some fabulous results on the home soil and foreign tourneys. From West Indian master-class Sir Viv Richards to Australian great Mark Taylor. India’s captain cool also features in the list, whereas champion batsman Ricky Ponting also ticks in the record book.

10. Mark Taylor (Australia) – 26 wins:

The former Australian skipper has led the Kangaroo pack on 50 occasions. Winning 26 times and losing out on 13 occasions he stands at 10th position in the list of the most successful Test captains. 11 matches ended in a draw as the average reads 35.07 with a highest team total of 628. Taylor himself, was a stylish batsman, scoring 7525 runs along with 19 centuries and 40 fifties.
