Top 10 Teams with Most Fifers in ODI Cricket: ODI Cricket is that illustrious format of the game wherein taking five wicket haul is widely regarded as the pinnacle of limited over bowling. We all are very familiar with the fact that a bowler can only ball a handful of 10 overs in the whole match. That’s why taking five wickets in an ODI match is contemplated as one of the most walloping and astounding achievements on a cricket field. This team also has the best strike rate of 38.5 and the second best average of 29.07 per wicket in the list of top 10 teams which highlights the stupefying richness of the fast bowling resources that the proteas possess. 5. Their not so good bowling average of 33.49 and strike rate of 42.4 per wicket is a fair reflection of the weak link of the side. The duo of Javagal Srinath and Harbhajan Singh has taken the most number of five fers- three each for the country. Muttiah Muralitharan is ranked second in the list of most five fers by a bowler in ODI Cricket with 10 five wicket hauls to his credit. Lasith Malinga has taken 7 five fers while Chaminda Vaas and Sanath jayasuriya have taken 4 five-fers each. 2. The Country is world famous for producing some great bowlers like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Imran Khan, Shoaib Akhtar, Saqlain Mustaq and Abdul Qadir. They have featured in 842 matches and have taken 64 five fers and 130 four fers. They have a fantastic average of 30.70 and strike rate of 40.8. Waqar Younis, Shahid Afridi, Saqlain Mustaq and Wasim Akram are the four players from the side who are listed in the list of top 10 ODI bowlers with most five fers. Since its debut in 1971, the giant side has played 856 matches with 73 five fers and 152 four fers to their credit , which is the most by any side in the history of ODI’s. They also hold the distinct record for the best average which is 28.5 and miser economy rate of 4.41 while their strike rate is second best after South Africa -38.7 which is hardly any shocker. Brett Lee with 9 five fers, Glenn McGrath with 7 five fers and the newbie Mitchell Starc with 5 five fers are ranked 3rd ,6th and 10th respectively in the top 10 list of bowlers with most Five Fers in ODI cricket.
