Zimbabwe is currently ranked as the 10th best ODI team of the world behind Ireland who is not even on this list. The African nation has struggled with a lot of things over the years and their cash strapped board has done a commendable job to keep them playing in difficult situations. They have had some amazing players like Heath Streak and Andy Flower over the years. Their total of 888451 runs in ODIs has come in 471 matches since they started playing in 1983. Perhaps it is surprising to see a team like South Africa on 8th position of all time teams with most runs with 116513 runs in ODIs, but it is worth noting that they started playing ODIs only in the year 1991. They also have the highest average and strike rate in this list, 33.23 and 78.46 respectively. The Proteas are the 3rd best ODI team in the world with some great players like Dale Steyn and AB de Villiers currently playing for them. They have always been a tough opponent for every team in the world. It is also worth noting that they have got more overall centuries (153) than New Zealand (109) and England (129) the teams that have played more ODIs than them. They have also used the lowest number of players (115) in this list to reach this total.

England lies on the 6th position in the ICC table at the moment after a disappointing CWC 2015. They have had some memorable performances over the years. They are also one of the teams who introduced One-Day International cricket to the world. They participated in that all important first ODI of the world against Australia. They have managed to score a total of 130575 runs in 659 matches so far. It is worth mentioning that England have used the most number of players (243) in One Day Internationals over the years.

The 4th best team in the world at the moment according to the latest ICC ODI rankings has scored a total of 133142 runs in ODIs so far since they started playing in the year 1973. New Zealand have played a total of 698 matches and used 189 players in ODIs so far. They had their best ever CWC campaign in the recently concluded ICC CWC 2015, where they finished as the finalists. Martin Guptill scored a sensational 237* in that World Cup and he is their top individual scorer of all time. Their average of 26.59 is among the lowest in this list of teams.

Perhaps, surprisingly the West Indies are in the top 5 of this list of teams with most runs in ODIs. Players like Brian Lara and Viv Richards have previously played for this cricket crazy nation. They have given us some of the most memorable memories of world cricket. They are currently the 9th best team in the world. They have scored 141188 runs in a total of 734 matches since they started playing in 1973. Their highest individual score is a double century (215) in ODIs.

Sri Lanka is currently the 5th best team in the world. They have also produced some memorable players and performances over the years. They also have second highest number of ducks(0s) in ODIs with 558 times their players getting out on a zero.

Pakistan has always been an ever present team in the ODIs since their debut in 1973. They have played a total of 855 matches in ODIs and scored 171899 runs in these matches using 208 players. They are third in the list of all time top scoring teams in ODIs; however they lead the world teams in the number of ducks scored in One-Day Internationals with 615 ducks registered for Pakistan. They also have 919 fifties in ODIs and 172 centuries (third best) in the world.

Australia are the current world champions and also the best team in the world right now. They have accumulated a mammoth 181780 runs in 866 matches using 211 players since they first played in the year 1971. They have scored at an average of 32.04 which includes a total of 191 centuries and a world record 1060 number of fifties. Mcgrath, Ponting and Steve Waugh are some of the most popular players in the world. Australia has always managed to stay competitive and have always been a team to beat.

India has scored the highest number of runs in ODI cricket since they started playing in 1974. They have also played the highest number of matches than any team in the world &#8211; 895. Rohit Sharma&#8217;s 264 remains the highest ever individual score in ODIs and also India leads the world in the list of number of centuries scored by any team with 236 centuries scored by Indian players. Also Indians have scored a total of 1008 fifties in ODIs. India&#8217;s average in these 895 matches is 30.49. India is also the 2nd best team of the world at the moment in the ICC rankings for ODIs.
