Top 10 teams with most T20I wins in 2015

The year witnessed some fine performances and many thrilling encounters in the shortest format. There were times when a batsman was left stranded and moments when the ball went over the ropes during the final hours. While major teams were busy playing Tests and ODIs the associates and others played majority T20I matches in their bid to qualify for the World T20 2016. Today, we take a look at the teams with most T20I wins in the year of 2015. 10. New Zealand – 2 wins: New Zealand. They won against South Africa at Durban and beat England at Manchester while losing to Zimbabwe and South Africa to make it a mixed season in the T20 circuit. The Kiwi bunch has come of age in a successful year and with skipper Brendon McCullum retiring before the T20 World Cup, the onus will be on Kane Williamson and his boys. 9. The sub-continental side won one match against Pakistan and one against Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe came back to beat them in one game while South Africa cleaned up two games. The side looked determined and that can be a good news for the Bangladeshi fans as they will play more games in the coming year. 8. West Indies – 3 wins: West Indies. West Indies played 5 T20I matches this year, winning three and losing two games. They started the year on a destructive mode, chasing a record-breaking 236 to clinch the T20I series against South Africa. They lost the last game but still won the series, thanks to a 2-1 lead. Against Sri Lanka, Windies won one game and lost one making it a draw and shared the trophy, ending the year on a good note in terms of T20 performance. 7. Scotland – 4 wins: Scotland. Two of the matches had no result, as they wrapped up the year on a positive note. 6. England – 4 wins: England. They beat Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand, to make it a clean sheet this year. With the Wolrd T20 set to be played next year in India, England will surely fancy their chances this time around. 5. Hong Kong – 5 wins: (Photo Source: ICC) Five wins from eight games will hold Hong Kong in a good place. They performed emphatically against Afghanistan, Nepal and Ireland and showed their mettle at a crucial juncture. 2016 will be a challenging year for them, with loads of games on offer. They swept the important series against India in India but lost to a spirited West Indies 2-1 earlier in the year. South Africa have been eluded from a silverware at the global platform, and they will brace themselves for next year’s World T20 in India. 3. Pakistan – 6 wins: Pakistan. They were involved in a tie match against England, and the visitors clinched a win in the super over leaving Pakistan with hot cheeks. Overall, it has been a good year for the green army. 2. The Dutch outfit also won games against Ireland, UAE and Scotland, making it a memorable year and staying at the second spot among teams with most T20I wins in the year 2015. 1. They fought hard and never gave up, resulting in winning games from the jaws of defeat. 2016 will offer more opportunities, and it will be exciting to see how well they can unfold the events. As far as 2015 is concerned, they can take pride being the team that won most matches in the year.
