6. Varun Chakravarthy – 12.4 crore
The mystery spinner of KKR Varun Chakravarthy was recently in the spotlight when he got his maiden call for team India against Australia. But an unfortunate injury ruled him out of the squad. He received his call on the back of some excellent performance in both domestic and IPL stages.
His 5/20 against Chennai was a gem of a performance to watch. He caught the attention of media when an uncapped player, was bought for a huge 8.4 crore price by KXIP in 2019 auction. But the year didn’t go well for him with regards to the performance, making him the bowler to concede highest runs on debut.
In 2020 he was bought by KKR, where he got the opportunity to prove his worth. His performance of 17 wickets from 13 matches was one of the best by the spinners in a season. Expected to be retained by KKR for 2021 edition, the Tamil Nadu leggie is believed to perform soon for India.
