Top 10 Unsold players in IPL Auction 2015: There were many surprises in the IPL auction this year. Some unknown players were bought for astronomical sums of money, while some known and famous players didn&#8217;t get any bid.

At 39 years of age, Jayawardene was hoping to get a franchisee after DD releasing him owing to a poor season with them last year. He along with Kevin Pietersen and other were in the list of players who were put into the auction by DD.

5. RP Singh (IND)

His has not been able to break into the Indian team off late after his embarrassing return to test arena on the 2011 England tour. And he has also not gained any confidence of selectors even for the A tours.
Hence he went unsold in both the rounds.

A truly surprising omission, Mahela Jayawardene went unsold despite being available for the whole season due to him announcing his retirement from international cricket.
At 39 years of age, Jayawardene was hoping to get a franchisee after DD releasing him owing to a poor season with them last year. He along with Kevin Pietersen and other were in the list of players who were put into the auction by DD.
2. Kumar Sangakkara (SL)

Kumar Sangakkara, who played for SRH was not available for the IPL auction last year due to is international commitments. He has also declared that he will retire from limited overs international cricket.
But it seems that the franchisees have decided to move forward with younger players in their team. Hence Sangakkara went unsold in both rounds and the special 3rd round of the IPL auction this year.

Many expected Hashim Amla who is the no.1 ODI batsman currently and also in top form to get the highest bid for a foreign player. But there was no interest from any IPL franchise when his name came up for bidding during the auction.
