4. Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) – 373 innings:
Another Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya scored his 25th ODI century in the 373rd inning against West Indies in the ICC World Cup 2007. He made 115 and helped Sri Lanka reach 303, then came back to take 3 wickets for 38 runs to win the match for Sri Lanka.
The former Sri Lankan captain is regarded as one of the most dangerous ODI openers ever. He changed the way the game is played in the opening 15 overs when he went after the bowling in the 1996 World Cup and played an important role in Sri Lanka becoming world champions. Sanath Jayasuriya retired in 2011 with 13,430 runs to his name in 445 matches and a total of 28 ODI centuries to his name.
