At the top of the top 5 batsmen with most hundreds in a year in ODIs is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. Reappearing in the same feature twice that too in the niche section where only 5 batsmen from around the world and in the entire history are considered. Only Sachin had the talent and determination to do so, as he not only made but also challenged his own records, every time that he took the field again. In 1998 he bettered his own previous record by scoring 9 centuries in 33 innings that he played. The year turned out to be extremely eventful and the master blaster scored 1894 runs at a stunning average of 65.31.

**All the batsmen at number 3, 4 and 5 have hit equal number of hundreds they have thus been rated higher for lesser the number of innings required for the same.
