The Australian opener is the only left-handed batsman on this list. Starting his cricketing career as a T20 specialist, he impressed one and all with his aggressive yet effective strokeplay. He was added into the limited-overs side as well where he quickly cemented his position at the top order with a barrage of good scores. Finally, he was called up to the Test side against New Zealand in a home test at Gabba in 2011.

Many people were apprehensive of his inclusion in the Test side as he was more or less seen as a limited-overs specialist. However, he proved many cricketing experts and pundits wrong with his consistency in red-ball cricket. Throughout the years, he has shown unparalleled consistency across all formats and thus, has become a mainstay for the Australian batting line-up.

In 355 international innings, the southpaw has breached the 100 run mark on 43 occasions. Out of these, he scored 24 hundreds in whites, 18 hundreds in ODIs and a single hundred in the shortest format. Thus, his innings per century average come out to be an impressive 8.25.
