1. Virat Kohli: 6.57 innings per century
The ‘Wonder Boy’ of Indian cricket has been a revelation since he made his debut in the year 2008. An integral part of the World Cup triumph in 2011, he hit his purple patch right after the tournament and is still going strong 9 years later. Since 2011, he is on a hundred-hitting spree and it would be no surprise if he surpasses Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 international tons within the next 4-5 years.
After initial struggles in the longest format, Virat Kohli finally found his foot even in Test cricket and has gone from strength to strength since then. Though he has not been able to breach the 100-run mark in T20Is as of yet, he has often lit up the stadiums with his exceptional batting, as evidenced by his successive Man of the tournament awards in the 2014 and 2016 edition of the World T20.
There has never been a tinge of doubt about his performances in the ODI format as he has already surpassed many greats and is now second on the list of most ODI hundreds in a career, just behind the Master himself.
In 460 international innings, Kohli has scored 70 International hundreds. 43 of those came in the ODI format while 27 were scored in red-ball cricket. Thus, his average is 6.57 innings for a century which is the best for current players having an experience of at least 100 international innings.
