3. Rohit Sharma: 7.48 innings per century
The ‘Hitman’ of the Indian cricket team has been a vital cog in India’s limited over set-up. Rohit made his ODI debut for India in 2007 as a middle-order batsman. However, his life changed after his promotion as an opening batsman in 2013. Since then, he has not looked back and has went on to become one of the greatest openers to have graced the game of cricket.
The Mumbai stalwart has some splendid records to his name when one speaks of the One-day Internationals. He holds the record of the highest individual score (264) and is the only player to have smashed three double hundreds in ODIs. Also, the right-handed batsman gave a brilliant performance in the 2019 World Cup last year as he scored five hundreds in the marquee event.
In 217 innings played, the 33-year-old has smashed 29 centuries and 43 half-centuries scoring 9,115 runs in the 50-over format. Thus, statistically, Rohit scores a century after every 7.48 ODI innings that he plays.
