The most successful bowler of 2019, Mohammed Shami has played a vital cog in India’s success in all the three formats of the game in recent years. The right-arm pacer from Bengal has managed to impress the who’s who of the cricket fraternity with his lethal pace, consistency and ability to take timely wickets.

While playing at Melbourne Cricket Ground against Australia in 2014 in the third Test match of the four-match series, the 30-year-old Shami had clocked a delivery at 153.2 kmph, his fastest delivery till date. Though the game had resulted in a draw, Shami had emerged as the highest wicket-taker for India with 6 wickets under his belt in Melbourne Test.

Since his debut in January 2013 against Pakistan, Mohammed Shami had toured Australia for the first time in 2014-15. However, it wasn’t a very successful one. Although he was India’s highest wicket-taker with 15 scalps from three Tests, he was still learning.
