4. Umran Malik – 155.6 kmph (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
The 22-year-old, hailing from the hill state, Jammu and Kashmir had gained attention during IPL 2021 game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore. He bowled three deliveries in a row at more than 150 kmph to Devdutt Padikkal. As a result of his fast bowling, he was named as a net bowler for India’s team for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
This time around, Umran Malik has clocked 150+ kmph on a regular basis and he took to a different level in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The youngster bowled one delivery at 155.6 kmph to Rovman Powell which is the fourth fastest ball in the history of the tournament. In the same match, he bowled deliveries clocking 155.6 kmph and 154.8 kmph. Umran broke his own record multiple times for bowling the fastest delivery.
Malik has been ringing bells with noteworthy performances ever since the tournament began. He took his first five-wicket haul in T20 cricket against Gujarat Titans. Since then, his confidence while bowling in the last overs has increased day by day. He has successfully created fear among the top batsmen of the world with the exuberant power of his right arm.
