The fast bowler from South Africa Anrich Nortje is currently one of the top fastest bowlers in the world. He has been consistently hitting 150kmph+ for the past few IPL seasons now. He ranks seventh in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings of bowlers. The 28-year-old pacer, year on year is proving to be a great bowler in the shortest format of cricket.

In August 2020, Nortje joined the Delhi Capitals as a replacement for Chris Woakes in the IPL. On 14 October 2020, during the 30th match of the IPL 2020, Nortje bowled at the speed of 156.22 km/h (97 mph) to Jos Buttler of Rajasthan Royals. Although it went for a boundary, the Proteas speedster showed the world that he can bowl at extreme pace.

Nortje is responsible for creating a well-known fear among the batsmen. He is trusted to bowl well in the first powerplay of the innings itself. The pacer made his T20I debut against India in the year 2019 and since then has been South Africa’s leading pacer.
